Cleaner Shrimp
| Latin Name |
Lysmata amboinensis |
| Common Name |
Cleaner Shrimp |
| Also known as |
Cleaner Shrimp |
| Fast Facts |
Very hardy once established, these active cleaners are allowed to perform their cleaning duties on even the largest fishes. Like all shrimps, they require careful acclimation. Sensitive to changes in specific gravity and pH, always acclimate slowly.
IMPORTANT ACCLIMATION NOTES
Shrimps often molt when shipped. The molt is such an exact duplicate of the shrimp that it is easily mistaken for a dead shrimp! ANY SHRIMP THAT MOLTS DURING SHIPPING SHOULD BE ACCLIMATED VERY SLOWLY OVER SEVERAL HOURS WITH DRIP METHOD ACCLIMATION. Again, molting in transit is not unusual, nor is it preventable. Don't be alarmed if this happens, but ACCLIMATE VERY SLOWLY.
