One of the hardiest species of anemones in the aquarium, many Clownfishes will accept the long tentacle as host. This Anemone generally does well in well maintained reef aquariums. It is photosynthetic and requires good lighting. May benefit from supplemental feeding of finely chopped meaty seafoods in tanks where fish are not fed. Prefers sand substrate, but this is not mandatory. One of most forgiving anemones available. The purple form of Macrodactyla doreenensis is *very rare*, most sought after and is not regularly available.
Please Note: Anemones can expand and contract tremendously. Size will vary from smaller when you receive them, to larger until they have adjusted to your aquarium for a period of weeks.
SIZE & AVAILABILITY NOTE:
Larger size is rarely available, just getting one at any size is a miracle, and they're usually small.
