This is a good aquarium fish that is occasionally available to the trade. It can even be kept in small tanks (as diminutive as 30 gallons). It can be housed with a wide-range of fish species and rarely bothers its tankmates. Initial phase individuals can be kept in small groups in the aquarium and will not bother other wrasses, including closely related species. Do not keep large males (rarely available) together.
