Yellowtail Coris |
| Fast Facts |
The juveniles of this species are red with white saddles. The Adult Red Coris Wrasse is very different in color. Provide a sand bed of 3 to 4 inches for it to bury in. Young individuals are usually fairly passive towards other fishes. Multiple juveniles can be housed together, but may fight as they become larger. Juveniles will occasionally clean the body surface of other fishes, apparently in attempt to remove parasites and dead tissue. This fish is a very delicate shipper and should not be considered by apprehensive hobbyists. If you're nervous about mail ordering fish, buy this one locally, or better still; avoid it altogether! There are many other wrasses that do well. Juveniles of this species have a high metabolism and are very difficult to maintain. Be sure they get enough to eat by feeding them at least three times daily and don't keep them with boisterous fishes or fishes that to that feed too boldly.
PLEASE NOTE This species not covered by our live arrival guarantee. It is a delicate shipper and difficult to maintain even under the best of conditions. |
