Lei Trigger

Lei Trigger

Latin Name Sufflamen bursa
Common Name Lei Trigger
Also known as Hawaiian Lei Trigger, True Bursa Trigger Scythe Trigger, Bursa Trigger
Fast Facts AVAILABILITY NOTE
This fish is not often available, so jump on them fast.

This is a handsome species that is less belligerent, and much less often available than many of its relatives. Juveniles are very mild; in fact they are often quite timid. Like any trigger, adults can be more aggressive, but they are not as assertive as many of their relatives. They can be kept with larger fishes or species that are equally aggressive. With time it will learn to recognize the aquarist as a source of food and will become more brazen. This species is also known as the "Lei Trigger" and "Scythe Trigger", and is much less commonly encountered than the other trigger know as Bursa Trigger, who's Latin name isn't "bursa" at all! This species is typically collected from Hawaii and is usually around 3"-5". Unlike many other triggers, particularly small specimens are not often available.
