| Fast Facts | Clown Triggerfish collected from Australia are known for their superior quality and health. Like many non-endemic fishes collected from Australia, they're typically collected at a larger size, since inexpensive imports from Indonesia and the Philippines of smaller specimens dominate the market. The color of Australian specimens is no different than specimens from other origins, but their robust size and quality is always impressive. This is a gorgeous triggerfish that like many of its cousins has a variable personality. Although some individuals will ignore similar-sized tankmates, others will behave aggressively towards them. If you want to house them with other fish, select equally sized, or preferably larger, equally aggressive tankmates. Also, place them in a large tank with lots of hiding places. I have seen people keep them in tanks with small damselfishes that would dart into nooks and crannies that the trigger could not enter, but if the damsel misjudges the trigger's speed, its fate is sealed. You will find wildly varying opinions of this fishes personality. Do not keep more than one clown triggerfish per aquarium. One of the most popular of all aquarium fish! | ||||||||||||||||||||
