Collected Southern Queensland, Australia, this shark is unlikely to be mistaken for any other. This shark has a unique and distinctive color pattern. This shark hatches at around 9" and specimens collected for the trade are generally smaller juveniles around the 10"-14" range. A bottom dwelling species, the juveniles can do well under the care of the experienced shark keeper. Feeds on bottom dwelling invertebrates. Offer meaty foods including pieces of fresh shrimp, scallop, mysis shrimp, or marine fish flesh. . Like most sharks, it may fast for weeks before it begins feeding. |
