This species is unlikely to be confused with any other species of Rabbitfish. The front portion of is dark brown to black with a white and black band on its head (which doesn't show up well in this underwater photo-- these are VERY cool fish!). The rear quarter and tail is yellow. This is an excellent aquarium fish whose care is identical to the common Foxface. The Fiji Foxface is found only in the South Pacific, mainly around Fiji, and is not regularly available to the trade. One of the most sought after species of Rabbitfishes. The spines of this, and all Rabbitfishes are venomous. Do not touch! This is an attractive and exceptionally hardy aquarium species. Does best if some algae is present in the tank. These fish are usually indifferent toward its tankmates, except closely related species and members of its own kind.
