| Fast Facts |
This species is not often available to the trade. In nature, this species lives on sand flats, sand slopes and muddy estuaries. It often is found resting on the open sand or lying next to a water-logged stick or other benthic debris. This puffer is typically not aggressive. It is a rather shy fish when first added to the aquarium, therefore, you will need to provide an appropriate crevice or cave for it to hide in. With time, it will spend more time in the open. Once it is fully adjusted to the aquarium it is a hardy fish that can do great in a tank with fishes such as less aggressive triggers, groupers and larger wrasse. |
