You couldn't find a better aquarium fish! This lovely Pseudochromis is found only in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. This species is sky blue over the back and flanks, with a light belly and a yellow stripe running down the back from the nose to the tip of the tail. This is one of the most docile Pseudochromis and can generally be kept in a more passive community tank. However, it can be intimidated by the presence of larger fishes. The Flavivertex Pseudochromis is known to eat small bristleworms/fireworms in the reef aquarium. Provide a varied diet including meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, finely chopped seafoods and frozen preparations. Most of the individuals in the aquarium trade are bred and raised in captivity. |
