Longnose Hawkfish

Longnose Hawkfish

Latin Name Oxycirrhites typus
Common Name Longnose Hawkfish
Also known as Long Nose Hawk, Long Nosed Hawkfish
Fast Facts This wonderful fish has a red checkerboard pattern on its white body. The nose is very long and apparently used to locate its prey from reef crevices. This is one of the least aggressive a hawkfish, and easily the most distinctive. Keep on one per tank, unless you have a very large aquarium. Provide with structures to perch on (it really likes gorgonians and black corals) and nooks and crannies to hide in. Generally very easy to care for.
