Golden Head Goby

Golden Head Goby

Latin Name Valenciennea strigata
Common Name Golden Head Goby
Also known as Golden Head Sleeper Goby, Yellow Head Sleeper Goby
Fast Facts PLEASE NOTE
This fish is a restricted species and is not covered by our live arrival guarantee. Not to worry, there are other hardier gobies that can do the job.

This goby has a yellow head a blue line below the eye. It is a hard working fish that is often employed to stir sandy substrates. But, unfortunately, it often pines away in the home aquarium. If you want a functional goby that's hardy check out the Dragon Goby, which does a great job sifting and is easy to maintain. The Golden Head Goby needs to be fed frequently and should be provided with live sand. Like all Valenciennea it can easily jump out of an open aquarium. This species is rarely aggressive towards other bottom-dwelling fishes. Provide with a "live sand" bottom and plenty of hiding places.
