Orangespotted Filefish

Orangespotted Filefish

Latin Name Oxymonacanthus longirostris
Common Name Orangespotted Filefish
Also known as Longnose Filefish
Fast Facts This little beauty should generally be avoided by hobbtists because it feeds exclusively on coral polyps and rarely accepts aquarium fare. This species is usually indifferent toward its tankmates, with the exception of members of the same species. However, you can usually keep a pair or a small group of these fish if they are added simultaneously. It should only be kept with more docile species. Provide branching corals (either live, dead skeletons or faux) for it to refuge in when threatened or at rest.
