| Fast Facts |
The whiteeye moray is a handsome species that used to be classified as a member of the genus Siderea (ichthyologists now include this group in the genus Gymnothorax). The overall color is somewhat variable, but it always has white around the eye. It is a secretive species that will need plenty of hiding places. It is not overly aggressive, but may eat small fishes and will eat ornamental crustaceans. It is usually not a threat to other eels. Its small size makes it a perfect choice for the smaller eel tank.
