Personifer Angel

Personifer Angel

Latin Name Chaetodontoplus meridithi, Chaetodontoplus personifer
Common Name Personifer Angel
Also known as Queensland Yellowtail Angelfish, Personifer Angelfish
Fast Facts Highly prized among rare angel enthusiasts, this is one of the most durable members of the genus. However, like most angels, it may take several days or weeks before it begins to feed. Although a generally a peaceful angel, like most fishes, it can be pugnacious towards newly introduced fishes, especially if they are closely related. You can keep it with other angelfishes including congeners, but ideally, all should be added simultaneously to a larger aquarium, or the smaller individuals should be introduced first. This spectacular species is found mainly around the Great Barrier Reef, although it has been reported from others areas. Its Latin name was changed from C. personifer to C. meredithi in 1990. Shown is a very large male
