Fast Facts

Like most butterflies, this species varies in its adaptability to aquarium life. Some readily acclimate, while others have difficulty. Provide it with a varied diet and do not keep it with aggressive fish species. Once it acclimates, it may be able to fend for itself somewhat with pugnacious fishes, but it will not adapt if it senses any threat when first added to the tank. It will usually ignore most other fishes kept with it. It can be employed to clean live rock of glass anemones; however, it will also feed on some of the more desirable invertebrates living on the rock, like fan worms. Provide it with plenty of swimming room. Most specimens are around 2"-4", smaller or larger sizes are rarely collected.
