Common Name Redlip Blenny
Also known as Lipstick blenny
Fast Facts The redlip blenny is dark brown anteriorly and lighter posteriorly. The lips are reddish and there are often red highlights on the fins. This species spends most of its time sitting on the substrate. It does best if the aquarium has healthy microalgae growth. It is one of the most aggressive of the blennies and will chase and nip bottom-dwelling fishes that enter its territory. It has fang-like, rear canines that are used in territorial defense. Keep only one per tank, unless your aquarium is very large. Not regularly available.

Diet and Feeding Feeds on algae, provide a varied diet that includes frozen preparations for herbivores. Will do best in tank with microalgae.
