This species is limited to the Fiji Islands. It is golden yellow overall with a black line down the center of the body. Like others in the genus, it spends most of its time swimming or hovering in the water column. It is often seen hanging above the substrate, with its head down, searching for food. It is usually ignored by its tankmates, but can defend itself if attacked. This species will ignore its tankmates, with the possible exception of close relatives and members of its own kind.
