Brazilian Gramma

Brazilian Gramma

Latin Name Gramma brasiliensis
Common Name Brazilian Gramma
Also known as Brazilian Royal Gramma
Fast Facts The Brazilian Gramma is as hardy as it's more commonly available and nearly identical looking northern cousin the Royal Gramma. The purple and yellow colors of the Brazilian Gramma blend more subtly than in the Royal Gramma, and is considered more attractive. It is a hardy, relatively non aggressive aquarium fish, but it is slightly more territorial than the Royal Gramma. It will defend a preferred hiding place from intrusion. An ideal fish for the reef aquarium, this durable fish typically does great in any well maintained aquarium. Grammas can be kept in groups in the aquarium, but they should not be overcrowded. Placing one larger fish and several small fish in an aquarium your increasing the chances that you will acquire only one male and several females.
