| Fast Facts |
This is a distinctive and uncommon species of anthias. Males are pink with a horizontal red stripe on the body, females are pink with a yellow tail. Although it has a fairly wide range in nature, it is not often seen in the trade. It will do best in a roomy tank with nonaggressive tankmates that is replete with hiding places. Like all anthias, it is best kept in a group consisting of one male and several females, although it can do well singly. Introducing this fish into a tank that already contains a well-established shoal of less aggressive anthias may facilitate its acclimation. Provide clean, well oxygenated water, along with plenty of water movement and open swimming space. |
