| Fast Facts |
One of the Holy Grails of Anthias, this spectacular deepwater anthias is rarely collected. This species is generally a little larger and more spectacular than most anthias (most of which are small) and should be housed in a large aquarium with plenty of swimming room. Like most anthias, acclimation can be slow; your specimen may hide for a week or more before you even catch a glimpse of it. However, in time it will usually come out of hiding and accept live and prepared foods. Only one male should be kept per aquarium, unless the tank is very large. Provide clean, well oxygenated water, along with plenty of water movement and open swimming space. The Pictilis Anthias is rare, never plentiful and they sell fast. ACT IMMEDIATEKLY when available! |
