This attractive fish is pink with small yellow spots and red bars on the back. In males, the upper lip protrudes slightly. This species is often reluctant to feed in the aquarium, with live brine shrimp often being needed to induce a feeding response. Like many anthias, they not a bold fish and are also susceptible to being picked on by more aggressive tankmates. Keep only with exceptionally peaceful tankmates. For a hardier Antihas, check out the Lyretail Anthias. It is best kept in groups, consisting of one male and several females. Provide clean, well oxygenated water, along with plenty of water movement and open swimming space.
