Juvenile specimens are primarily what are seen in the trade, adults are much less common. Juveniles are dark overall with alternating white and blue semicircular bars. This is a great aquarium fish that will thrive in a well-maintained tank. It will eat a wide variety of aquarium fare, including algae growing on the aquarium glass and decor. One of the hardiest of all angels for the aquarium! Adults of this species are green overall, with body scales that have blue edges. All the fins, except the pectoral fins, have blue margins. The dorsal and anal fins of very large adults have filaments. At around 5" and larger they begin to take on the blue-green "adult" color.
