Blue Angelfish

Blue Angelfish

Latin Name Holacanthus bermudensis
Common Name Blue Angelfish
Also known as Blue Angel
Fast Facts In terms of purchasing, this could be considered the "economy version" of the similar but nicer queen angel. Shown is a smaller specimen, which is mostly what is collected. The adult blue angelfish has a greenish-blue body and tail. The tail has yellow rear edge, while in the closely related queen angelfish (Holacanthus ciliaris) has an all yellow tail. Juveniles of the two species differ in the shape of the white body bars. In the blue angelfish they tend to be straight, while those of the juvenile queen are curved. This is a durable aquarium fish. Larger juveniles and subadults acclimate more readily than very small or very large specimens. Provide it with plenty of swimming room, as well as suitable hiding places. One of the hardiest angelfishes in the aquarium.
