PLEASE NOTE: This is a restricted species and is not covered by our live arrival guarantee Although this items usually arrives alive, it is generally difficult to maintain unless you're highly experienced in dealing with these corals.
A spectacular but somewhat delicate coral, particularly initially, Lemnalia can do well if its needs are met. It is a delicate shipper that requires expert handling and plenty of water during transport. It is not strongly photosynthetic; it does best in low to medium to bright lighting and strong water movement. Proper water movement is mandatory for these corals. A direct flow of water from a pump "drilling into the coral " will destroy newly imported pieces, but weak current is equally bad. Strong water flow throughout the tank, for example, directed at tank walls, is recommended. Alternating or pulsing water flow is most beneficial for these corals. These corals will benefit from supplemental phytoplankton feeding. Once established, these corals are fairly hardy, not as touchy as their initial requirements sound. Colors are vague combination of purplish with yellow polyps, or vice versa.
Note: These soft corals can expand and contract tremendously. Size will vary from smaller when you receive them, to larger until they have adjusted to your aquarium for a period of weeks.
